Since becoming a parent a little over six months ago, I have come to realize just how expensive having a kid can be and just how much fun it is to shop for the baby. Now that I have a good excuse to buy cute stuffed animals and food-shaped teething toys, I have been looking forward to Amazon Prime Day more than ever before. The annual shopping event is, ahem, a prime opportunity for parents to score deals on things their kids need, from backpacks to car seats. But there’s also seemingly endless discounts on fun stuff like toy kitchens, kiddie pools, Magna-Tiles, and electric scooters.
Prime Day 2023 runs from Tuesday, July 11, to Wednesday, July 12. (Reminder: You have to be an Amazon Prime member to shop.) There will be thousands of items on sale, but not all are worth your attention. I find it helpful to approach Prime Day with a strategy, whether for buying all your holiday gifts early, finally pulling the trigger on expensive stuff you couldn’t otherwise afford, or concentrating on essential items you know you use all the time (diapers aren’t cheap). But if you’re flying by the seat of your pants, this list will help you avoid purchases you may later regret.
Animals Toys Using my deal-sniffing expertise and many hours of research, I’ve rounded up all the best Prime Day deals for babies and kids (including big-ticket items like strollers and baby monitors as well as smaller stuff) and sorted them according to age. To save you time and help you find the very best deals, I’ve prioritized products we have written about before, ones that have been recommended to me and my fellow Strategist staffers by cool parents, educators, and even real-life kids. I’ve also searched for the biggest discounts on products from some of our favorite brands.
