City of Manistee yard waste pickup to start May 2

The city of Manistee's yard waste collection program will begin May 2 and run until early November.

MANISTEE — The city of Manistee's yard waste collection program is set to begin early next month.

According to a post on the city's website, the department of public works will pick up bags every Tuesday starting May 2 until early November.

"City residents may put grass clippings, leaves, etc. in paper yard waste bags and place along the road edge," the post reads, in part. "... Residents can purchase paper yard waste bags at local stores."

Residents are asked to fill the bags no more than three-fourths full, and to keep the weight of each bag under 40 pounds.
